Sweetwater constructed this 9,000 square-foot clean room GMP manufacturing space, meeting ISO 7 and ISO 8 requirements while covering radiation safety requirements. To accommodate the tight constraints of the area, a 7,000 square-foot steel mezzanine was built on top of the clean room space to house AHU’s, chillers, boilers, switchgear, etc.
A new 5,000 square-foot pharmacy area at this location was later created with ISO Class 7 space contains a gowning room and ISO 8 anteroom, technical corridors and storage.

The base requirement for this space was 2 chemistry labs with 16 fume hoods each, a mixture of 6 to 8-foot benchtop and walk-in hoods. Additional scope included 2 exterior hazardous waste buildings with galvanized steel stairs, ramps, a new mechanical equipment building and new restrooms.
These hood-intensive laboratories required significant mechanical and electrical infrastructure due to the massive airflow required and the tight temperature and humidity requirements.
In addition to managing the construction, Sweetwater’s role included managing the design and the County Planning and Zoning process.

Sweetwater and the Team performed the design and construction of a 140,000 square foot expansion, along with 1,600 square feet of renovations to the existing cafeteria and kitchen. Included is a cGMP validated, 55,000 square-foot manufacturing floor. The remaining space houses office functions, electromechanical and wet labs, and a GMP warehouse. The scope also includes site work to accommodate additional parking requirements, replacement of lost parking, and revised entrance to the site.
Sweetwater managed the entire site plan approval process with local township. This Economic Development Authority project attained LEED Silver certification.
