1985

Ron Sr. purchases Sweetwood Interior Construction

The company is renamed Sweetwater Interior Construction Group in 1985.

1988

Ronald C. Witt, Sr establishes Sweetwater Construction Corp

Ronald C. Witt, Sr., as President and part-owner, establishes Sweetwater Construction Corp. in 1988 when the company was producing $500,000 per year in revenues.

1988

Sweetwater moves corporate headquarters

Sweetwater moves corporate HQ to the farmhouse in Cranbury, New Jersey.

1988

First major interior construction project in 1988

NCR data processing center - first of legacy of successful occupied corporate interiors projects.

1991

Ron Witt, Jr joined the company in 1991

Now President, CEO & Co-Owner.

1992

Sweetwater recognized as fastest growing company in NJ

Sweetwater is recognized as a top 20 fastest growing company in the state of New Jersey and now maintains a spot on the top 100 largest private companies in the state.

1994

First major corporate office project

Sweetwater completes the first major corporate office project in Ewing, New Jersey for Epitaxx. Project includes 40,000 SF offices, R&D, and cleanroom manufacturing.

1995

First major General Construction for Princeton Orthopedic Group

Two-story, brick veneer ground-up with elevator and physical therapy gym in Princeton, New Jersey.

1999

First hotel project - Courtyard by Marriott - South Brunswick, NJ

First major hotel project completed for Courtyard by Marriott in South Brunswick, NJ. 154-room with indoor, spa and restaurant, 1 of 5 hotels to be completed in next 2 years.

2000

First project with Universal Display Corp.

Still providing construction services with more than 50 projects logged.

2003

First ambulatory surgery center Murphy Healthcare

Middlesex Surgery Center completed. Sweetwater has since completed 40 surgery centers to date.

Sweetwater receives Above and Beyond Award as Patriotic Employer from Department of Defense

Contributions by employees and subcontractors for our safety director’s platoon in Army Reserves.

2010

First veterinary facility Winslow Animal Hospital

Award-winning premier animal hospital. Went on to complete 12 vet facilities including premier NorthStar VETS Trauma & Specialty Center.

2011

Merwick Care and Rehab completed

First 200 bed nursing center constructed for Windsor Healthcare, with work at 7 more locations since 2011.

2011

Sweetwater reaches $1 Billion

Sweetwater reaches $1 Billion in cumulative revenue mark. Ron Witt Sr. and Nancy Witt pictured.

Sweetwater moves to downtown Cranbury, NJ

Renovations of old PNC Bank building for new corporate headquarters.

2014

Sweetwater Joins ISNetworld

Sweetwater is awarded work with a biotechnology firm which requires inclusion with ISNetworld.

2014

Major expansion project for Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, Flanders NJ

Second addition and renovation project at this manufacturing headquarters LEED Silver Certified, with several improvement jobs at other Siemens locations.

2016

Pozycki Hall at Monmouth University wins ABC EIC Project of the Year

Two-story academic and administration building Includes a 180-seat state-of-the-art lecture hall. Also wins NJBIA Good Neighbor Award in 2016.

2017

Multi-family community development – Avery Townhome Apartments

First major Multi-Family project with 2 more completed to date for client.

Ronald C. Witt, Jr. named President & CEO

Ron Jr. takes over helm of Sweetwater.

2019

Renovation of Sweetwater HQ

Sweetwater undergoes major corporate renovation of Cranbury office. Renovation includes highlighting history and core values and marks the transition of next era of the company.

2020

Inwood Apartments at Renaissance

Sweetwater completes 338-unit multi-family project at Inwood Apartments.
