Once again, Sweetwater is pleased to be an Associate Business Member of the Health Care Association of New Jersey! HCANJ’s mission is to promote high quality care for residents in NJ’s long term care facilities. We respect their work and vision, and participate in HCANJ’s events to learn and connect with our clients and colleagues in the Senior Living sector.

Senior Living is a strong and valued market for Sweetwater. Our teams have performed close to 100 related projects at 28 facilities in New Jersey, for 15 clients. The focus for us is to be a strong partner that is reliable, engaged, and effective in all aspects of construction for the well-being of residents and staff.

 The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Celebration raised a tremendous $3.2 million dollars this year in New Jersey! The Morris County event, that Sweetwater participated in, was attended by thousands and so inspiring and uplifting. Our 10th place Corporate Team ranking of contributions in NJ, thanks to our friends, employees and subcontractors, is an effort to be proud of as a first time participant.

We are excited to launch Sweetwater’s Corporate Team fundraising for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) LIGHT THE NIGHT event in Morristown, NJ on October, 22, 2022.. LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding research, finding cures and ensuring access to treatments for blood cancer patients. Monies raised will fund treatments for patients suffering from all types of blood cancers.

Since 2017, LLS has helped advance 85% of the blood cancer treatment options approved by the FDA!

Sweetwater Construction Corp.’s efforts toward environmental responsibility have earned recognition in the CERC community.

CERC is a certification program that aims to promote environmentally responsible contractors by helping them stand out from the competition.  Contractors can become certified by establishing an environmental risk management plan through broadened pollution coverage and training employees on environmental best practices. “A CERC certificate can reduce the time project owners and general contractors spend verifying insurance requirements and demonstrate that a company has trained their employees on Pollution Prevention Practices,” said Darren Berg, president of Environmental Risk Professionals.

 

ENR New York posted their Top Contractor survey results in July with Sweetwater Construction positioned at #40 of the 58 firms reporting. Our 2021 fiscal year revenue was just under $100 million. Sweetwater management was excited to only experience a 4% decrease in volume from FY 20 to FY 21, as an 8 – 10% decrease was forecasted based on pandemic impact in the country. Through proactive management and communication with various building departments, we were able to keep several more projects active than expected.

JW Living’s Arbor Village at Smithville, NJ is highlighted in the survey as the largest project to break ground in 2021.  The three-story senior living building, totaling 112,000 square feet with an 8,000 square-foot courtyard, will offer 130 units of memory care and assisted living studios.  It is the latest of many ground up and renovation projects performed for this client.

We are excited to announce that our client TANTUM Realty, architect Studio 1200, and Sweetwater have received recognition from the NJ Business & Industry Association for the Veterans Housing Project in Jersey City! The Annual New Good Neighbor Award highlights construction projects that offer community and economic benefits to their surrounding environments. This building offers housing to homeless veterans and self-improvement activities to the residents of the entire neighborhood. The July issue of New Jersey Business Magazine will highlight the project details.

As a veteran-founded company, Sweetwater Construction Corp. is proud to have contributed to making this vision a reality.

As we begin the transition of various businesses reopening, I continue to be impressed with the dynamic abilities of our great company. Each and every one of you has risen to the challenge and fought to keep us going. It has not been easy, but we are stronger as a result. While we still have hard work in front of us, know that I would go to battle with each of you at my side. The virus threw everything at us and we did not blink! I am proud of every member of our team. Let’s keep up the fight; we now have tangible evidence that we ARE prevailing!!!
